Jätte många människor framför allt ungdomar har skickat in sina profil bilder på en invitation på facebook för att bilda en gigantisk mosaic bild av påven. Det var en födelsedagspresent till påven som fyllde år den 16 april.
Facebook users from around the world sent their pictures to form a mosaic as a birthday present for the Holy Father
Friday, April 16th, 2009 - This week, traffic on the WYD´s Facebook page has been incredibly intense. Young people were responding to an invitation to submit pictures that would form part of a huge mosaic, a birthday present for the Pope .
"It´s like having a glimpse of the whole Church all at once," commented Robin on the final product. "I´d love to show my face in honour of the Pope´s birthday!" Ignacio added. On the Pope´s birthday, a picture of the Pope made up of 1,200 photos was published on the WYD website. All these photos had been submitted in less than 48 hours. The young people appearing in the picture with the Pope do so as a sign of support.
The WYD mailbox filled up fast not only with with pictures but also with birthday greetings in different languages. Ursa, Warren, and Noniek each received a response to their picture: "Gracias!" Despite speaking Slovenian, English, and Indonesian respectively, they all understood this one Spanish word: sometimes language is no barrier. And their photos are now part of the picture in honor of the Pope.
This is just one example of the support young people are giving to the Pope on this special day, as he turns 83 years old
